In the wild climbing plants will use trees as anchors of stability. In your home they don't have these so a moss pole mimics a tree for it to climb up.
This can be planted with your Monstera, Devils Ivy or other climbing plant to give it the support and stability it needs to grow upwards. When planting be sure to bury the stick as close to the centre of your plant as possible but be careful of the roots. Ideally you pop a moss stick in when you are repotting the plant completely.
Train the plant stems up a moss pole by gently attaching it to the moss stick using soft loose cable ties or pieces of material. Never use hard wire or anything that can cut into your plant.
