Plant Care
Botanical name - aparagus setaceus
Origin - South Africa
Tolerant of most light conditions
In the wild I live in the undergrowth so thriving in dappled shade. Although I can tolerate slightly lighter environments please be careful in direct sun as my fragile fronds dry out and scorch very easily.
Regular watering
I thrive on humidity and like my soil to be kept lightly moist but not soggy. Don't leave my roots sitting in water. I love a good misting twice a week or why not pop me in a humid bathroom.
Care tips
If my little leaves are looking brown and dead at the edges in most cases this is due to low humidity or under watering. Why not up your watering and misting regime.
Fun facts
Even though I have 'fern' in my name I am not a true fern. I am actually a relative of the lily, tulip and amaryllis. When I'm mature enough I produce long climbing fronds which you can train up walls or along window ledges.
