Boston Fern
Plant Care
Botanical name - Nephrolepis exaltata
Origin - tropical America
Tolerant of most light conditions
I prefer bright indirect light but I can tolerate a slightly shadier spot if needs be. In the wild I live in the undergrowth so thriving in dappled shade. Although I can tolerate brighter environments please be careful in direct sun as my fragile fronds dry out and scorch very easily.
Regular watering
I thrive on humidity and like my soil to be kept lightly moist but not soggy. Allow my top layer of soil to dry out between waterings. When watering wait until you see water coming out the bottom of the pot but don't leave my roots sitting in water. I love a good misting twice a week or why not pop me in a humid bathroom.
Care tips
Humidity is key with me! If my little leaves are looking brown and dead at the edges in most cases this is due to low humidity or under watering. Why not up your watering and misting regime.
