Plant Care
Botanical name - Phlebodium aureum 'blue star'
Origin - Tropical rainforests of South America
Medium Light
In the wild I live nestled in tree branches under dappled light under the rainforest canopy. So I’ll be happy in shady areas but I will grow best in bright indirect light. Prolonged exposure to bright direct sunlight may scorch my leaves.
Regular Watering
Keep my soil moist, but not soggy. Check me weekly and give me a drink if the top inch of my soil feels dry. I don't like getting my leaves wet so try and water from the side of the pot. Let the top 2" of soil dry out between waterings in autumn and winter.
High Humidity
I thrive in humid environments so love a good steamy bathroom or kitchen. You can also pop me near other plants which creates more moisture in the air.
Care Tips
If my leaves are browning on the edges then I may need more of a drink or in a place with very dry air or I've been burnt in the sun.
