Botanical name - Pilea 'Moon Valley'
Origin - Rainforests of Central and South America
My name is inspired by the deep valleys and craters of the moon, take a close look at my leaves. Can you see what they mean?
Bright indirect Light
Pop me in a bright spot away from the harsh midday sun. But be careful not to put me in too dark a place as it will promote mould growth and rot.
I'm not a huge fan of drought so please keep me watered regularly - around once a week in the growing season and decreasing in winter time when I go into dormancy and slow down. Although I like water wait for my top soil to dry in between waterings and please don't leave me sitting in a puddle. This can lead to root rot which can kill me.
I love a humid environments so steamy bathrooms or kitchens are great. You can also pop me near other plants which creates more moisture in the air and regularly mist me. Other options are pebble trays or humidifiers.
Regularly check for mealybugs (white visible fluffy bugs) which can live on the stem crevices or leaves and can affect the plant and in some cases even kill it.
